A Benefit Concert For The Canadian Cancer Society
Join Tony Rino (Calgary Tenor, Recording Artist and Flames National Anthem Singer) with accompanist Leila Chiacchia and Special Guests for a fun and spirited afternoon of song, with an Italian flare! This Fund Raising event for The Canadian Cancer Society will feature door prizes and a silent auction, as well as head-shavings during intermission.
You’ll hear popular selections including Sacred Classics (like Ave Maria and Panis Angelicus), to fun-filled Italian favourites (like Santa Lucia and Oi Marie), and more Italian Classics (like La Donna E Mobile and Torna a Sorrento).
Entertainer Garry Sylvester will accompany Tony on accordion for a spirited selection of Italian-Neapolitan classics.
Special instrumental selections will be performed by talented young artists Kristi Staveley and Sarah Giech.
The concert will also feature Tony and Barbara Thorson singing The Prayer, and a Special Performance by The 3 Tenor Generations (Tony, his father Joe and son Joseph) singing O Sole Mio.
