We North Americans live a very privileged but sheltered life. Gratefully many of us are socially conscious. We see disaster or poverty in the media, make our contributions and then quickly forget the problems that rest of the world is enduring. During the process of this project I have spent a great deal of time in South America. I have encountered poverty like I have never seen before. Fortunately the people here are not suffering famine and drought like Africa.


The following link is the website of an a group of individuals who are taking positive action to confront the problem of poverty in the Third World. Canadian Food For Children is a Canadian charity. This is an organization unlike most. Everyone involved is a volunteer. No one is paid ! That is correct. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT - 100% of all money raised is used for buying food and paying for shipping. I believe they have chapters in Calgary and Montreal as well two locations in British Colombia..
